The First Book of Meqabyan is a canonical text only in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. Despite its name, it has no direct relation to the books of Maccabees found in the Catholic and Orthodox Bibles, presenting distinct narratives and characters, such as King Tseerutsaydan and the Meqabyan martyrs. The Ethiopian tradition considers it a historical and wisdom text, often cited for its moral laws.

Chapter 35
As JAH vex on you because you didn't judge a Truth Judgemant to the child whose mother and father dead on him - woe to you 'Isra'iel nobles.
Woe to you persons who go toward a drinkin house mornin and evenin and get drunk - who are partial in judgemant - and who don't hear the widow justice nor the child whose mother and father dead on him - who live in sin and seducin.
JAH told 'Isra'iel nobles sayin thus: - Unless you lived firmed up in I Command and kept I LAW and loved what I-man love - woe to you - Him told them.
and I-man shall bring destruction and chastisemant and tribulation on you - and you will perish like unto what weevils and moths ate - and your tracks and your region won't be found - Him told them.
and your country will be a wilderness - and all persons who sight she up formerly shall clap them hands ~ them shall marvel on she while them said - 'Weren't this country filled of she plenty and all who love it?; JAH made she thus by persons sin who live in she.'
Them shall say - 'As she have made she heart proud - and as she have ilivated she ras self - and as she have firmed up she collar of reasonin up til JAH make she wretched on Earth - and as she shall be a desert by persons arrogance who live in she - and as thorns have grown on she with thistles - woe to she.'
and she grow weeds and nettles - and she became a wilderness and a desert - and beasts shall live within she.
to JAH Judgemant have firmed up on she - and to she shall raceive JAH Judgemant Chalice because she reasonin arrogance by persons sin who live in she - and she became frightenin to persons who go toward she.
