Welcome to Kanon.Bible
Kanon.Bible is a digital platform that provides the complete canon of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church — 81+ sacred books, including 1 Enoch, Jubilees and Meqabyan — with study tools, community and gamification. All free.
Our goal is to preserve and democratize a forgotten Christian heritage, presenting the texts with honest contextual notes, respecting the spiritual autonomy of each reader.
Getting Started
After creating your account, follow this guide to set up your experience:
1. Set up your profile
Go to your avatar menu → "Profile". There you can:
- Add a photo
- Edit your display name
- Write a bio (max 160 characters)
- Enter your denomination (optional)
2. Choose your language
Go to "Profile" → "Settings" → "Language":
- 🇧🇷 Portuguese
- 🇺🇸 English (default)
- 🇪🇸 Spanish
- 🇫🇷 French
💡 The interface updates automatically after saving.
3. Explore the books
Click "Read" in the menu. The 81+ books are organized into:
- Old Testament
- New Testament
- Exclusive Books — 1 Enoch, Jubilees, Meqabyan and others
4. Bookmark your favorites
Click on any verse to:
- Highlight with one of 5 colors
- Add notes personally
- Copy the verse with reference
- Share on social media
5. Join the community
Go to "Community" to create posts, like, comment and reply.
6. Start a journey
Go to "Journey" and choose a guided reading plan.
💡 Each journey is divided into missions. Complete one to unlock the next and earn badges!

How to open a book
- Go to "Read" in the menu
- Choose a category
- Click a book → select the chapter
Navigating between chapters
- Previous/Next buttons — at the bottom of the page
- Chapter selector — in the top menu
Saving your progress
Kanon.Bible saves automatically:
- Scroll position — every second
- Chapters read — progress recorded
- Daily streak — reading sequence
Verse actions
Click on any verse to:
- Copy — with reference
- Highlight — 5 colors
- Note — personal annotation
- Share — modal with options
Customizing your reading
- Font size — 5 levels (14px–24px)
- Theme — Light or dark
- Bilingual mode — two languages side by side (Premium)
Reading Journeys — Complete Guide
What are Journeys?
Guided reading plans organized by theme. Each journey has:
- Missions — sets of days with a specific goal
- Days — specific chapters to read
- Badges — achievements for completing missions
How to start a Journey
- Go to "Journey" in the menu
- Choose an available journey
- Click the first mission to begin
Mission progress
- Available day — you can read now
- Locked day — complete the previous day first
- Completed day — already read (✓)
💡 When you complete all days in a mission, you earn a badge!
Badges and Achievements
- 🥉 Bronze — Basic missions
- 🥈 Silver — Intermediate missions
- 🥇 Gold — Advanced missions
- 💜 Special — Themed missions
- ❤️ Legendary — Complete journeys
Community — Complete Guide
How to create a post
- Go to "Community"
- Click "What are you reading today?"
- Choose the type: Free, Verse, Topic or Question
- Fill in the content and click "Publish" (or Ctrl+Enter)
How to interact
- Like (❤️) — show support
- Comment (💬) — share your thoughts
- Reply — respond to specific comments
💡 Comments are nested, creating organized conversations.
Reporting content
- Click the flag icon (⚑)
- Select the category: Offensive, Spam, Misinformation, Harassment or Other
- Add a description (optional) and click "Submit"
Audio and Accessibility — Complete Guide
How to listen to a chapter
- Open any chapter
- Click ▶️ (play) in the audio bar
- Words are highlighted in real time as the chapter is read
💡 Audio keeps playing even if you scroll the page.
Speed controls
- 0.75× — slower reading
- 1× — normal speed
- 1.25× — fast reading
- 1.5× — very fast reading
Offline reading (PWA)
- Chrome/Edge — installation icon in the address bar
- Safari (iOS) — share (⬆️) → "Add to Home Screen"
- Android — the browser offers it automatically
