Kanon.Bible respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what your rights are.
1. Who we are

2. Data we collect
We only collect what is necessary for the platform to function:
Registration data
Display name and email — necessary to create and identify your account.
Reading history
Which books and chapters you've read, and your scroll position — to save your progress between sessions.
Favorites and notes
Bookmarked verses and personal notes — to sync across devices.
Payment data
Processed exclusively by Stripe. We do not store card numbers or bank details on our servers.
Access country
Automatically detected by IP to personalize language and currency. We do not store the IP itself.
Browsing data
Collected via Umami Analytics — cookie-free, no cross-site tracking, no identifiable personal data.
3. How we use your data
Platform functionality
Save reading progress, favorites, notes and language preferences.
Authentication
Verify your identity when logging in and keep your session active.
Payments
Process subscriptions and donations via Stripe, according to the contracted plan.
Transactional emails
Registration, payment and cancellation confirmations. We never send spam.
Product improvement
Anonymous usage metrics (via Umami) to understand which features are most used.
4. Who we share with
We do not sell or rent your data. We only share with:
Stripe
Payment gateway. Receives card data and processes charges.
Supabase
Database and authentication. Data stored on EU/US servers with encryption at rest.
Brevo
Email platform. Receives your email address and name for sending communications.
Vercel
Website hosting. Processes requests without storing personal data beyond temporary logs.
5. Your rights
Access
View all your data from your account panel in Settings.
Export
Export your data in JSON format at any time.
Correction
Update name, email and other information directly in your profile.
Deletion
Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data. Executed within 30 days.
Portability
Receive your data in a structured format to transfer to another service.
6. Cookies and tracking
Kanon.Bible uses essential technical cookies to maintain your login session and save theme and language preferences.
We do not use tracking cookies for advertising or cross-site behavior analysis.
7. Data retention
Account data
Kept while the account is active.
After account deletion
Data removed from systems within 30 days after request.
Payment data
Retained by Stripe according to tax and regulatory obligations (typically 5-7 years).
System logs
Kept for up to 90 days for security and diagnostics, then automatically deleted.
8. Security
- HTTPS required on all routes
- Passwords stored with bcrypt hash
- Sensitive data encrypted at rest
- Card data processed by Stripe — never stored by us
- Automatic daily backup with 30-day retention
9. Minors under 18
The platform is intended for users 18 years or older. If you are a minor or are responsible for a minor who created an account, please contact us: kanonbible@gmail.com
10. Changes to this policy
When there are relevant changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days in advance.
